Tip 23: Communicate With Your Representatives

Talking to your local Representatives about what you want and need from your government should be a part of your life. It is important to communicate your ideals to those who represent them. The need for financial education and literacy is an issue you should speak about. Write to your Representatives and ask for financial education in schools. Our kids are not receiving the curriculum they need to succeed in today’s world. One bill currently in the House and Senate, the Financial and Economic Literacy Improvement Act of 2009, has the potential to mandate financial education for all K-12 and secondary education students. It may very well be the most important bill of the year. I urge you to call and lend your support for it. You can find more about it in a previous article on my site.
