May Tips: Practice the Two Minute Rule

The two minute rule is something that I personally apply all the time in my day to day life. This is how it works. When you’re out shopping or browsing around and you see an item you think you just “have” to have, take a step back and walk away from it for two minutes. Move on to something else and keep walking. If you find you really still have the desire, go back and think about picking the item up. Usually I find though that just by walking away for two minutes and moving along, that I don’t really want that item I thought I had to have just a few minutes ago. It’s a great way to learn how to tame your buy it now impulse and save yourself from a closet full of once or never used items.
