What is the law of hypnotic rhythm? It’s when we drift through life, reacting to various situations and people on automatic pilot rather than intentional action. It’s living in the repetitive daily habits that keep us stuck in the same patterns and the status quo.
To cultivate the success you want, it is essential to do something new to break free from the automatic patterns that rule your life, and instead, consciously make the behavioral changes that will make your bigger vision a reality.
Repeated thoughts and actions become automatic.
There is a saying in neuropsychology that neurons that fire together wire together. What it means is that the thoughts you think, like paths on a grassy field, become more entrenched every time you think them. The more your brain travels the path, the smoother the path becomes, making it faster and easier to travel. Before you know it, the thoughts that you think over and over again feel like they become who you are, leading to the results you get in your life.
This is true for both positive and negative thoughts.
The great thing is, we can change our thought patterns, which is important because all success starts in the mind first. To make this mindset transformation and stop drifting, a habit change is necessary. That means becoming more aware of your thoughts, so you can start developing the daily mindset practices that support the life you want.

Using the law of hypnotic rhythm to your advantage.
Our brains like predictable patterns and living in the status quo because the hypnotic rhythm helps it to conserve energy. You can use this to your advantage by cultivating and building on the daily habits that support your goals and bigger vision.
To get started, examine the daily habits you already have.
Use the daily habits that are already in line with your bigger vision and build on them. When you stack on the habits that are already in place, it is easier to stick with them and turn them into positive actions that you just do and don’t think about. For example, if your goal is to become stronger, you could do ten squats every time you brush your teeth. One daily habit you already have in place triggers the other.
When you are making changes, it is important to remember that changing too many things at once can be overwhelming, making it less likely to be successful. It is far better to get one new daily habit in place and do it consistently, then build from there.
Identifying triggers that reinforce old behaviors.
What you repeat, you reinforce…and nothing puts you back into a negative reactive pattern quite like triggering people and situations. That is why it is so important to identify those triggers, so you can release the negative patterns of reaction that come with them.
There are many more questions you can ask yourself to identify your triggers. Once you have identified them, think about the ways you can start shifting from your typical autopilot reactions to a positive intentional response, or consider how you can remove yourself from the situation and/or limit your time with that person.

Shifting energy from reaction to intentional response.
There is great power in a pause. It creates the space necessary to choose new thoughts and the actions that come with them. Sometimes that can happen by simply taking a breath before you respond. But some energy shifts will require a bigger plan before you can make them successfully and then start to make them a habitual way of being.
To do it, pick one of your triggers and explore it first.
Next, define the response you want instead of your usual one.
You may need outside support to help you find a better response if your reactions are deeply ingrained.
Finally, practice your response.
Remember that neurons that fire together wire together. At first you will be walking new ground and the response you are developing isn’t likely to be smooth in its delivery, but the more you can walk the path with practice, the easier it will become.
Practice in front of your mirror, in your car or roleplay your new response with a trusted friend. As you get used to setting your boundaries and talking about them in a calm way, it will become more fluid in your real-world situations.
This will help you consciously break free of the patterns that keep you reacting in the hypnotic rhythm that holds you back from the things you want and the person you want to be. Soon you will see that your mindset transformation and personal growth is moving you steadily toward the bigger vision you’ve been dreaming about.
