Blend Confidence and Hard Work

When your children learn to blend confidence with good old fashioned hard work and diligence they are creating a powerful combination to succeed in their lives. Confidence gives them the drive to go out and realize their dreams, while hard work is the engine that takes them there. Instilling the drive in your children at a young age will help them form a paradigm of action in their behavior. It’s also important to remember to let kids be kids though. It’s a finite balancing game, but the best way is to ensure they are having fun while learning. Hard work usually only comes with some kind of incentive – the drive to be better at our craft, to make lots of money, to help others, etc. There is always a motivator behind that hard work. In children, you need to help them find what that is for themselves or else all you’re teaching them is to labor for your reasons, not theirs. They’ll never be as motivated this way. Education plays a big role here. If you can start educating your kids as to the benefits of hard work and why it personally affects them it will go a long way toward instilling the right mind frame in them. Without that education it’s just your word against theirs – and I don’t think I need to tell you that once your kids hit their teens, your word doesn’t hold as much weight as it once did! Find ways to illustrate and reveal the motivation behind hard work for your kids and combine that with the confidence to succeed and they’ll be on the right path.’
