Changing Your Mindset and Dialogue Around Finances

As our nation celebrated its birthday a few days ago, I couldn’t help but feel sad about where our country is today. On July 4, 1776, our founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence and created a new nation based on freedom and independent thought. 235 years later, we find ourselves living in a nation enslaved by a huge national debt and a populace dependent on entitlement programs. Is it not time to move from entitlement to empowerment? Is it not time to demand freedom and independence once again?nn“The whole world is undergoing a change of such stupendous proportions that millions of people have become panic stricken with worry, doubt, indecision, and fear!” Sounds like today, but astonishingly this quote was written in 1938 by one of the great philosophers of the 20th century—Napoleon Hill. During the 1930s, Hill’s all-time bestselling success book, Think and Grow Rich, was credited by many people with pulling the nation out of the Great Depression. His teachings can offer true perspective on the crises our country currently faces. Hill would argue—and I would agree — that the Devil is at work in our country today. Bad news and negativity surrounds us. In Outwitting the Devil, Hill reveals the tools we need to break through this negativity and create even greater success. He shares, “Life gives no one immunity against adversity, but life gives to everyone the power of positive thought, which is sufficient to master all circumstances of adversity and convert them into benefits.” I have had the honor to participate in writing close to 20 books on success and personal finance and I can honestly say that Outwitting the Devil is the most profound book that I have ever been involved with. It impacted me on a personal level and reminded me of the importance of focusing on your life purpose, even in the face of adversity. We need to plant a stake in the ground and demand positive action. Demand a shift from entitlement programs, where we give people a hand out – to empowerment programs, where we give people a hand up – and train them to become contributing members of society. We must reclaim our sense of purpose and our can-do attitude. Turning this social and political climate around is no small feat. The Declaration of Independence demanded freedom and independent thought and succeeded in creating our great nation. Have we been good stewards of these freedoms? The Devil can only control the minds of men who neglect or refuse to control their own minds. As citizens we need only to reclaim our own minds and in doing so we will reclaim our country. Is it not time to move from a country of go-getters to a country of go-givers? Is it not time to declare an end to Dependence Days and demand a new Independence Day? I ask for your help in spreading the word about this important message. Please help me get the word out about Outwitting the Devil. It changed my life for the better, and I know it will help anyone seeking to improve their lives.
