There are times when I lack confidence. Does that surprise you? The truth is, no matter how self-composed someone may look, there are places in their life where they too lack confidence. We are all learning about ourselves and others. We are all trying to figure out the best way to navigate life, business, relationships, and more.
New situations can cause self-doubt, simply because we can’t predict the outcome.
When we don’t know what our result may be, that can make us feel nervous, afraid, or frustrated. But the great news is that confidence isn’t something you either have or don’t – it’s more like a muscle that gets stronger over time as you keep flexing it.
Confidence is built as you take action.
The biggest hurdle is really taking that first step into something new. So, if you are procrastinating on doing something you really want because you feel a lack of confidence, try these steps to get moving:
Step one – recognize your strength and talent. Take a look back. You’ve done many great things. Even when you have experienced failures, you have found a way to move forward again to the place where you are now. Use that knowledge to your advantage.
Step two – make a decision. You have information in front of you. All we can ever do is look at the information we have and make the best decision we can in the moment. Don’t second guess. Make the choice and step forward into it. At the very least, you will get more information to make another decision, and you can do that!
Step three – celebrate your wins. Every single win you have, big or small, is progress. As humans, we feel great when we are making progress. And to create momentum, acknowledging that progress is vital because it’s proof that you are doing what you set out to do!
It is also important to recognize how your environment and what you consume impact your mindset. This is why I created my daily ATM program. I can’t believe we’ve already done 800 daily deposits of Abundance, Tips, and Mentoring for those who want to start conquering their day in a positive way. As you keep moving forward toward your goals your confidence will build. It’s a step-by-step process, and you can do it!
