The Law of Attraction: A Guide to Attracting Positivity

The law of attraction is something that many people talk about, but it is far more than just thinking about the things you want and having them magically show up in your life. It takes a conscious focus of your mindset to manifest your dreams, which is why I want to share a guide for attracting positivity into your life. 

What is the law of attraction? 

The law of attraction is about cultivating a positive mindset to magnetize more success and happiness into our lives. In short, we find what we focus on, and we can use this knowledge to our advantage when using the law of attraction. 

For example, research shows that when people consciously choose to work with a positive mindset, performance on nearly every level, including productivity, creativity, and engagement improves. Positive people also perform better when they face challenges, which proves your mindset matters when you want to manifest more money, a better job, deeper relationships, and more!

Getting further into the science, when we train ourselves to prioritize positive thinking, we engage our Reticular Activating System (RAS), which helps to filter all the stimuli your brain receives each second of the day. The RAS also helps your brain to focus on what you want and lets through the pieces of information in your environment to support it, which is when synchronicities start to line up for you, like a conversation you overhear about the very thing you want, or an article that gives you the exact information you need to take the next step on your journey toward your dream life. 

The brain is a powerful force and when we learn how to use it to our benefit, we can make amazing things happen!

What is the power behind manifestation?

Linked to the law of attraction, manifestation is the process of bringing the things you want into your reality through the power of your intention, focused thoughts, and the belief that what you want will come to you. This requires you to cultivate your mindset and use it to your advantage.

With that in mind, it’s important to know that the brain doesn’t know the difference between thought and reality. This is why you see top athletes mentally rehearsing before they compete – it improves their performance. That means, steeping yourself in your vision and imagining yourself taking the steps to make it a reality, will help you manifest the things you want too.   

To manifest even faster, we must work on our emotional intelligence to ensure we don’t allow ourselves to spiral out of control with our negative emotions when we face challenges. 

All of us will experience negative things in life, and typically, these are the times when we learn the most. What really matters is how we respond to these difficulties. By developing our emotional intelligence, we give ourselves better ways to work through our emotions, so we don’t stay locked into the negative feelings we face for longer than necessary. After working through the emotion and taking the teachings from the situation, we can shift our focus and put the RAS back to work for us in a positive direction.

How do you attract what you want?

Every single multi-millionaire and successful person I know has a set of daily habits they use to continually expand their wealthy mindset, which puts them in the perfect position to take the actions that bring even more abundance into their lives. In my The Play Big Movement podcast, I do a separate interview for my private Facebook group with the same name and I always ask my guests to share their daily habits so you can learn from them.

These are the steps that they use, and you can too, to manifest the things you want:

Step 1: Control your mindset. As we discussed above, what you focus on you will find. Attracting positivity requires positive thinking. Through the law of attraction, what you think about, you bring about – so as much as you can, keep your thoughts focused on the good things you want to bring into your life.  

Step 2: Define your vision. To manifest what you want, you need to know what it is. Then you need to go a step further to fully activate the power of your brain and immerse yourself in your vision by getting all of your senses involved.

  • How will it feel?
  • Who will be there with you?
  • What will you hear that you don’t hear now?
  • What difference will it make for you and the people you love, as well as the people you want to serve?

The more tangible you can make your vision through all your senses, the easier it will be to manifest it and know it when it comes to you.  

Step 3: Surround yourself with positive influences. To manifest positivity, we need to be in alignment with it. That is why we must carefully choose the things we expose our minds to. News, social media, conversations, books, magazines, podcasts and so on, all affect the way we think about the world. Always ask yourself if the people you spend time with, or if what you are watching, reading and listening to, supports your vision and positive thinking or takes you away from it. 

Step 4: Take action! To make things happen in your life, you have to do more than think about them. When you focus your RAS on what you want, watch for the next step you have to take to reveal itself. Trust that you will know it when you see it. Your brain will work for you! And to make sure you are going in the right direction, listen to your gut when it speaks. Our bodies have great wisdom for us when we listen to them. Then take the action to move forward toward your vision.

Step 5: Be open to the possibilities. Getting stuck on only one way of getting what we want can stall the manifestation process. There are many ways to reach a goal. If you only focus on one way of having your vision unfold, you are much more likely to miss an opportunity to take action and get what you want faster. 

By putting these 5 steps to work for you, you can use the law of attraction, along with proven science, to bring more positivity into your life and make your dreams come true.
